Description
The Unitree Go2 Edu Standard is the developer-focused configuration of the Go2 quadruped platform, designed for university robotics programs, research laboratories, and development teams requiring full software access for custom application development. The EDU Standard bridges consumer-ready accessibility with lab-grade openness for serious robotics work.
Unlike consumer Go2 variants, the Edu Standard includes secondary development support with SDK access, API documentation, and developer tools enabling teams to implement custom locomotion algorithms, integrate external sensors, and deploy machine learning models. This open architecture makes the platform ideal for reinforcement learning experiments, perception research, and autonomy development.
The Go2 Edu Standard maintains the Pro-level hardware capabilities including 4D LiDAR, 3.5 m/s mobility, and robust connectivity, while unlocking the software stack for advanced users. Teams can explore simulation-to-real workflows, custom gait development, and sensor fusion algorithms on real quadruped hardware.
At approximately 18 kg, the Edu Standard provides a manageable yet capable platform for indoor laboratory environments and controlled outdoor experiments. The platform serves as a bridge between educational toy robots and industrial-grade quadruped systems, providing meaningful research capability at an accessible investment level.
